I don't know why I started today yall, but I did. It's been a crazy few months... Misery to purgatory, ..hopefully soon to destiny.
L.A. was cool in so many ways. It was awesome to see people so excited about the silliest things. Like their agent got them a job, or much less like their audition went well. It never ended up working out. I think that a lot of people who make it in L.A. have financial backing from their parents. I had some. You can't work to live and put all the time that your craft needs into it, without burning out and running out of cash. It was so damn sunny out though, all the time. It just made things seem happier in the beginning because it was new. The beach was nice but much like the sand between my toes, it was just became more to deal with, and there was almost never a bbq on the beach. I found that my favorite thing to do is be with all my friends, outdoors with a bbq and drinks. I dont think there is anything better than that. With good music playing of course. I guess I just like partying.
So now I'm living in Georgetown, MA. I came here from L.A. in October. I went from sunny days everyday to one of the harshest winters that this place has seen in a long time. From about 80 degrees, to 30 degrees roughly.. If I wasn't so ready to get out of L.A. when I was, I think this would be more of a culture shock. I'm from Long Island. It got cold there growing up. It is damn cold though : ) Lot more opportunity here. Much more than out west. There are less people trying to make it here. It's (music) is way more of an outlet here than a job. People's dreams come 2nd to a day job here. That was something else that was beautiful about L.A...... People's dreams came first and everything else was a distant second. Actually, for some people, drugs came first, then dreams a close second, then everything and anything third.
